Doing Good...

Although we are not pushing the issue too hard, Nick is still doing very well going to the potty. If we go to the potty so does he. Most of the time just to sit there, but oh well his is understanding what it is for. This morning I sat him on his potty and he peed, but then he ran into the living room (without a diaper) and peed all over the floor. I couldn't help but laugh.

such a cute picture.

Have you got him any underwear yet?

One of the best part of potty training (for me), was how cute Jack looks in his little underwear.

I haven't gotten him any yet, but I have been shopping around for some. What a variety they have for little boys underwear. I wondered if it was too early.

That is so awesome that Nick wants to use his potty! WOW - could it be like he's potty training himself!
I agree with Sarah about the underwear. That was a big incentive for Calvin. He loved Elmo so after a long search for Elmo underwear, my cousin found them at Target.
Also, we posted a chart on the bathroom door. He got a sticker each time he went potty. He was VERY proud of his sticker chart!

Some people suggest that taking your child to pick out their own underwear makes them more excited about the entire process.

Thanks for the suggestions. I will have to take Nick out tomorrow to pick out some big boy undies. I think I will also try the chart. He loves to be praised so this would be a good thing for him. I have been giving him chocolate kisses, but I normally do not give him candy so the chart would be better.

you don't give Nick candy?

Wow, you really are a good Mom!

Lets just say I try. I am sure from a kids point of view not so much...

I can tell you with absolute certainty the "shot" potty training method works the best. Every time Nick goes poop or pee on the Potty you and Ryan do a shot. I don't know what it is about that method but potty training just seems to get funner...and funner...... and funner..

Rebekah now that is some advice to work with...we will have to try that out!!!
